Guide for photographers
Unique photo locations in Antwerp
Besides our own loft (of course!), Antwerp has plenty of unique spots. This list started years ago on our old site and is still our most-read page. Here is the refreshed version.

The Groen Kwartier
The former military hospital became a green neighbourhood with pavilions, gardens and a chapel. New, original and green: ideal for portraits and lifestyle. And Rentaloft is right next door. Address: Marialei, Lange Leemstraat and Boomgaardstraat, 2018 Antwerp.
The MAS, a classic
It is not only the red sandstone and wavy glass; the panorama over the city is what makes it magic. The rooftop is free. Photography inside is allowed without flash; check the current rules for the exhibition rooms. Address: Hanzestedenplaats 1, 2000 Antwerp.

Sint-Anna beach, for summer
Every Antwerp local’s summer pride: sand, greenery and the best view of the skyline, across the Scheldt on the Left Bank. Come in low light, when the sailing boats pass by.

Antwerp Central and the Antwerp Tower
Not the most original location, but a classic. In 2009 the American weekly Newsweek ranked it among the most beautiful stations in the world. Grandeur, modern extensions and trains suit almost any shoot. Tip: head to the top of the Antwerp Tower on the Keyserlei for a view of the station and the city.
Park Spoor Noord
In 2009 an abandoned railway yard became a green oasis: one big meadow, fountains, a skatepark and old railway sheds. Also perfect for a birthday picnic. Address: Damplein, 2060 Antwerp.

The pedestrian tunnel
The way to the Left Bank since the 1930s: 572 metres of tiles, light and wooden escalators. Ideal for images with depth, and it featured in TV series such as Zone Stad and Kaat & Co. Address: Sint-Jansvliet, Antwerp.

And when it rains: inside
Antwerp isn’t always dry. An indoor location with lots of daylight saves your schedule: 220 m², a 6-metre atrium and light from above and from two sides.
